Description

This object is a small, faint globular star cluster located 20,000 light years away in the southern constellation of Ara. Very little has been written about this cluster and few images have been published of it (one on Astrobin). The low declination of this cluster of -48 degrees makes it difficult for me to image clearly from the northern hemisphere.

Despite the small size, the stars appear to be resolved throughout the cluster including some in the core. There are a number of interesting colored stars (blue and orange) on the periphery of the cluster, but it appears to me that these are foreground stars and not truly members of the cluster.
