Description

M31, the Andromeda Galaxy, also known as NGC 224. A beautiful spiral galaxy approximately 2.5 million light years distant from our own Milky Way, and approaching us at about 70 miles per second. It is the closest large galaxy to our own, and contains approximately one trillion stars compared with our own 250-500 million estimated to be in the Milky Way.

This was acquired over three nights from Jan 13-15, 2018 in Marathon, TX in Bortle 1 skies.
