Description

Discovered in 1970 in Chile, this is a streak of stars that has been ejected from the galaxy NGC5128 that I imaged previously. The interaction that caused this happened 500 million years ago, and although the galaxy is only 13 million light years away, this galactic 'sneeze' has already crossed a surprising distance in the night sky - about 3 degrees. I've seen this object through my 25" and it was very faint, but detectable. I'm quite surprised that I was able to image it under light polluted skies. I'm not sure if the lumpiness in the background is light pollution gradients or galactic cirrus.
