Not sure how to describe this one. In 2016 I had shot a number of 2x2 binned, 300 second subs of the Trifid using the 16803 camera at 1.46 a-s image scale. I wasn't pleased with the resolution so in 2017 I installed the 8300 camera and shot 900 second narrowband subs at .43 a-s scale. The detail was OK but the frame was too tight. This month I shot 4 Ha subs with the 16803 and decided to throw it all together.

So the base image is the 120 HaLRGB 300 seconds subs + 4 Ha 1200 seconds subs with the Ha blended into the Luminance and the red channel. Then I pulled up my 24 hours of SHO narrow band data and added the it as luminance data to add detail to the central part of the nebula.

The SHO data was added as a layer in PS that I manually scaled and aligned. I feathered it heavily and blended it at around 75% opacity. That added depth and resolution to the bright nebula.

I wouldn't do this again on purpose but as I accumulate more data on project moving forward I guess there's no reason not to use anything that can help!
