Description

NGC 7293 is a large planetary nebula spanning about 2.5 light-years, approximately 700 light years from Earth, and can be seen in the constellation Aquarius. It is known as the ‘Helix Nebula’ and sometimes as the ‘Eye of God’.

This image was processed in PixInsight using a bespoke palette (Red = Ha/SII blend, Green = OIII/Ha blend, Blue = OIII). The final image was cropped, then re-sampled by 120% for aesthetic reasons.
