Description

This object is located 800 million light years away in the constellation of Hydra. It is by far the furthest non-quasar sky object that I have imaged, so far away that the individual galaxies are difficult to identify in this image. I have attached two annotated images (regular and inverted) to help identify the individual galaxies. There are over 250 galaxies circled in the image, and at least that many more which are faintly visible but not circled. The galaxies are easier to see in the full resolution image.

Scientists believe that this object is actually two colliding galaxy clusters and that it is one of the biggest objects in the universe.
