Description

The waxing crescent Moon was close to Aldebaran and Venus in the western sky around sunset April 18th-19th. This image was taken on April 18th about an hour after sunset. The waxing crescent moon was at 5% direct illumination and the remainder was nicely visible in Earthshine. Venus was close to the horizon to the lower right of the Moon. Aldebaran is to the upper left of the Moon which appears to be hanging in the Hyades.

Image taken with a Nikon D750 and Nikon 28-300mm zoom lens at 55mm and F/5. Exposure was 1.6 sec at ISO-800.
