Description

I decided before I went outside tonight that I was going to try and image NGC 5907. I tried to

image it last night with my new AT6RC scope but the light gradients from the full Moon washed

out the image to the point where most of the contrast was lost and I couldn't remove the gradients.

Also I assume because the light frames were so washed out that Deep Sky Stacker could only locate

8 stars out of 35 RAW images and would not perform the aligning and stacking. Tonight there was

also a very bright full Moon that also caused problems with light gradients but my light frames

had more contrast and I was able to remove most of the gradients. Once the Moon was up I

could only count 8 or 9 stars in the sky. Trying to image with a Moon up is not a good idea but

lately I've not had that many nights with clear skies. Anyway this is the first time that I've

imaged NGC 5907. I think it is a really neat galaxy and would be an excellent target in a

Moonless sky. Please enjoy.
