Description

Captured this image of Jupiter on the first night of average seeing (poor seeing seems to be the status quo) in the past few months. Images were still on the soft side, but much better than my attempts during poor seeing. Still holding out hope for some above average seeing close to opposition next week. Jupiter cleared the trees just as Io was completing a transit. Seeing wasn't quite good enough to make out Io against the background of Jupiter, but it was nicely visible once as it crossed the edge of Jupiter's disc.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, custom Siebert 2x barlow, ZWO ADC, and ZWO ASI224MC. Image capture using Firecapture. Wavelet sharpening in Registax.
