I was finally able to capture missing color data. This is my preliminary result. I am still not fully satisfied with the behaviour of stars and their color in PI processing... Some of the color data is also problematic since there was some movement in the mount. The bright halo of the 6.5mag star in the left center is also a problem. Feel free to process the raw data I uploaded here in the raw data area

NGC 5371 is a SAB(rs)bc galaxy (see also the detail, that got HDRMultiscaletransform to enhance contrast detail. At a 118MLy distance it has a calculated diameter of 128.000Ly. Note the red HII-regions, that indicate regions star formation.

Hickson 68 (HCG 68) consists of NGC5350 (SBb), NGC5353 (S0), NGC5354 (E), NGC5355 (S0) and NGC5358. Redshift data indicates, that NGC5354 might in fact not interact with the other galaxies (although it is forming a prominent pair with NGC5353). It is at a similar distance of 120MLy with NGC5371, giving rise to possible interaction. The other members of the group are closer at around 110MLy.

Note the wedge like nebulosity above NGC5353/5354. I thought it was an artifact due to poor flats, but comparing it to other images from users it seems genuine.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.

Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
