Description

Like M 109, this is another galaxy I first imaged very early into this hobby with my, tiny chipped, Atik Titan Mono.
I've always liked the distorted shape to NGC 3718. It's distance from us is over 50MLY's but that's close compared to Hickson 56, the small galaxy cluster close by. They lie a mere 400MLY's away. Three of the group are interacting much like our Galaxy's future with M31 and M33.

Most of the subs are taken in nautical darkness, six luminance were gathered on my last evening with some Astro dark.
I was pleased to get some of the faint arms to appear. Overstretched to reveal them, which of course adds to the noise showing too.

Less stretched version.

Added an extra 2 hours looks cleaner now. Not over stretched but the faint arms can be made out.
