Description

For me this image is exceptional and represents my best Jupiter image to this point. The seeing was almost perfect, with the Blue monochrome image as good as I normal see the Red monochrome images when I perform the lucky imaging process. The artistry in the waves of the North Equatorial Belt is beyond imagination and it is like someone has written hieroglyphs in the North North Temperate Belt above it.

Ganymede was visible to the right and I shall add this back in for a future revision of this image.

Ganymede aligned, stacked and RGB integrated in Photoshop, before integration into the final image at the correct location.

C

I reworked this image as part of the Jupiter movie project. I also reprocessed Ganymede, where the wonderful seeing allowed me to capture detail of the pro-Jupiter hemisphere of the moon. i.e. the tidally locked moon was moving behind Jupiter.

Removed ghost image of Ganymede
