Description

Here is an image that I started back in January. I almost tossed the data because this area was so low in the sky and teh freezing cold weather had caused my focus to shift almost completely oof by the end of the session, but the skies were dark on this particular night reading mag 21.6. I did the best I could to lift the extremely faint IFN located in this region.

The integrated flux can be spotted all around polaris and is a great darksite subject to work on if you have fast optics. The app Sky Safari Pro offers an IRAS IR overlay which makes composition of IFN quite easy, processing it and getting a strong enough SNR is another issue all together. I registered an old image of m51 shot with my RC8 onto this widefield to restore resolution in my undersampled galaxy, unfortunately I do not have a sunflower where I could do the same. This was alot of fun to process and I spent a long time, results are not what I would have like but I must accept that I only have so much data. I hope you enjoy being able to see how the ifn interacts across this region.
