Description

Coma Berniceis is a small constellation in Leo containing a few well known messier objects. I took interest in the blackeye galaxy m64 on this particular night. It sits close to a brighter region of integrated flux nebula, IFN. It requires dark skies to pick up ifn and on this particular night I ran into some challenges but I was pretty happy to still come away with some data.

Atmospheric transparency on this night was variable and caused my stars to get pretty bad halos, unfortunately I could not remove these but I did not want to waste the data, I preserved what I could. The poor transparency makes it difficult to capture deep detail particularly when under sampling as I was with this setup. The sky did clear up at one point during the night and sqm ranged form 21.1-21.5 around 1am when skies cleared up briefly. I imaged this target until it dropped to the treeline.
