Description

Before I went outside tonight I decided that I would try and image NGC 6811 an open cluster.

I felt that it would be less affected by the Moon than some other objects. I decided to use

my Astro-Tech AT72ED Refractor. I actually bought this scope because I thought it would perform well on open star clusters. So far it has done a good job with open clusters. I have confidence in the scope and it is a good fit for me. With all of that said please enjoy my first image of

NGC 6811 the Hole in Cluster.

Description: It never fails. My image looked fine on my monitor.
However when I uploaded it to Astrobin the light
gradients were obvious. I reprocessed the image to flatten the background a little and remove gradients.

Description: When I looked at my image with fresh eyes this morning there were some things that I didn't like. I reprocessed the image to clean it up a little and flatten the background a little more.
