Description

My first monochrome and first narrowband image, taken with my new Starlight Xpress Trius SX-814. I'm completely stunned by how clean the data is compared to my DSLR. Watching the raw subs come straight off the camera looking as good as they did was awesome. Only shot Ha on my first night, because of a nearly full moon, and just to keep it simple. I also figured it was my best chance at a decent image in a single night.

This was also the debut of a new lodestar X2 and OAG (bought as a kit), which is life changing. Despite using an OAG, the SNR on my guide stars with this camera was orders of magnitude better than my SSAG/guide scope combo.

I also discovered that the tiny stars that come with narrowband imaging present difficulties in generating star masks and thus de-ringing support for deconvolution. Something I will still have to figure out. More stars than I would like have ugly little rings...

Description: Captured OIII last night and decided to reprocess the Ha from scratch, this time performing a far better deconvolution that wasn't totally destructive to the stars.
