Description

I didn't intend on imaging this object. I was going to attempt to image the Cat's Paw Nebula and if I had time M16 the Eagle Nebula. However for some reason I had nothing but problems last night trying to image toward the South. I had tracking issues and my mount slipped an lost polar

alignment twice last night. It was just a night where it didn't look like anything was going to go right. Luckily I don't have many nights like that. I wasted a lot of time and had nothing to show for it. At around 1:00 am I noticed Cygnus in the sky. I decided to image NGC 6888 the Crescent Nebula. I've imaged this object several times and I was never pleased with the images. I've never imaged NGC 6888 with my AT6RC so I figured this would be a good opportunity to see how the scope did with this object. I did get an image but like my previous images this image was nothing to jump up and down about. You can tell that it is the Crescent Nebula but it definitely does not compare to some of the jaw dropping images that I've seen of this object on Astrobin. However I am pleased that I got an image. With all of that said please enjoy my most recent image of NGC 6888.
