Description

When I went outside last night I was intending on imaging NGC 6823 a cluster with associated nebulosity and NGC 6709 an Open Cluster. When I finished imaging these two objects the sky was still very good. I decided that I needed to take advantage of the sky and image something

else. I noticed that Sagittarius was high enough in the sky to see the entire constellation.

I've been wanting to image M24 for a long time because I need it for my Messier project but I just never got around to it. This is one of my favorite objects in an image. I tried for years to see this

object in an eye piece and could never really pick it out. Most of the time I could find the bright, very small,

almost star like open cluster NGC 6603 located within M24 so I knew I was in the right place but I just couldn't make out the star cloud M24. I was pleased with my imaging session because I finally got an image of this object. Please enjoy my first image of M24.
