Comments: This is one of the dark nebulae cataloged as a cometary globule, number 22. It is also cataloged as HMSTG 44. It is one of the faintest objects that I have tried to image and teasing it out from among the myriad of stars was extremely difficult. Of interest, Registar recognizes over 150,000 stars in this image. CG22 is one of the many cometary globules in the GUM nebula. I could not find any image of it in my references. The 5.6 magnitude star near the "tail" is HIP 41723.
