Description

My last complete LRGB image from 2018's galaxy season.

The Sombrero Galaxy's apparent size is 8 by 3 arcminutes, so it looks quite small in my wide-field telescope. On top of that, M104 only reaches a maximum altitude of 27 degrees at my location, so the city light pollution was even worse near the horizon.

Visually, M104 should be pretty easy to find thanks to the bright star cluster on the right side.

I collected the luminance and RGB on two separate nights, combined all frames to a super luminance, and used PhotometricColorCalibration for the color balance.

Considering the circumstances, I'm happy with my image of this famous edge-on galaxy
