Description

I imaged this before in Ha on my "mentor's" suggestion, but always saw it as two separate objects, more complex on the left and more wispy on the right. I opted for complexity with the 132.

Yesterday as I was preparing for the session I looked at some Astrobin images of the target and wow...it's really one connected complex nebula. The Star 71 FOV frames it well. This is slightly over 4 hours of Ha. Perhaps will add a bunch more to see if I can bring the "connecting" gas clouds out more. Will also gather at least OIII and likely SII as well for HOO and/or SHO renderings.

The revised image is from twice the data, and a slight difference in processing.

3rd version has a bit more noise, but I felt the last two were over processed, looked soft. I would like to be able to reduce noise without creating that blurred softness. Pixinsight's MultiscaleMedianTransform, with the Adaptibe slider in Noise Reduction turned down to ~0.5 on all levels isn't bad, certainly a step in the right direction; but it's not there yet.

MorphologicalTransformation also softens the image. Probably deconvolving would be useful, reducing star size and bringing out finer detail, but I have not yet figured that out. More experimentation is needed.
