Description

This is largely an experiment to see how well a narrowband Oiii image could be captured using the B and G pixels of an OSC camera. The B and G pixels receive about equal signal from the Oiii line, which means 3/4 of the pixels are capturing good signal and the loss from using OSC vs. mono are not as great as expected.

In addition, the individual color channels were drizzled to create separate R, G, B channels all co-aligned, and each at full res. because of drizzling and dithering.

The total exposure here is 30x2m or one hour - with a full moon very nearby.

No processing other than levels in photoshop. No cropping or gradient removal. The lack of gradient given the light pollution and moon presence reveals all the benefits of narrowand despite using an OSC camera and fairly wide bandpass Baader high speed filters with hyperstar.
