Description

Still getting the hang of AP...

35mm f/2.8 @ ISO 800. I wanted to see if I'd get less noise than at 1600, especially in warmer temps, and if stopped down from 1.4 I'd get sharper edges.

Swapped battery 1/2 way through, but didn't take my time reframing so had to discard an hour of subframes since stacking them together introduced a hard edge that even if I was successful eliminating, I suspect would have degraded the whole image.

There was 90% humidity so dew certainly degraded the images; I cleaned the lens towards the end of the 1st hour. (I need to pay closer attention in high humidity - say, check every 15m and clean as needed until I get a dew heater).

I'm pleased to see the lagoon (m8) and trifid (m22) nebulas, as well as the eagle (m16) and omega (m17) nebulas, have a little detail (for a wide lens), and some color (for an unmodified DSLR).

Saturn also snuck in there :-)
