Description

Flamsteed G is the 46 km (27 mile) diameter crater left center of the image. It is found in the western part of the Moon (5S 51W). The eastern rim of the crater is well defined, but only a small section of Flamsteed G's western rim remains visibile.

The brightly lit crater to the lower right of the image is Flamsteed C, some 9 km in diameter, with many other smaller 'Flamsteed' craters visible throughout the image, down to maybe 2km or less diameter. As a guide to the small crater sizes, Flamsteed S to the SW (left) of the brightlly lit mountainous edge of Flamsteed T (itself NW of Flamsteed G) is some 4 km diameter.

The 22 km diameter host named Flamsteed crater is not included, being some way to the east of the image.
