Eagle Nebula in SHO, presented with an almost complete star removal. I'll upload the version with RGB stars later. This version looks better scaled down IMO, but at full-res the RGB stars version is obviously a lot better, since here all the smudges and artifacts from star removal are pretty noticeable when you start to pixel peep.

This time I removed stars from each of the linear masters (with MMT/morpho) before combining into Hubble palette. Synthetic luminance frame was a mix of Ha at 100% and S at 60% via SHO-AIP. I substituted RGB stars for some particularly smudgy ones around the frame with clone stamping on this version at the very end.

I generally prefer the look of narrowband nebulae without stars, but I'm finding it tough to actually nuke all the stars without introducing nasty artifacts. I've been playing with a bunch of different techniques as I've been learning PI, but I haven't found anything so far that passes pixel peeping.
