Description

This is one of my first captures with the ASI290MC. It's convenient not to be changing filters and spending 4x the processing time. I still need to work at the exposure and capture settings a bit. I will probably increase exposure slightly to get a brighter image. The gain scale is also different on the 290MC. Using AutoGain in FireCapture seems to help. Seeing was not quite as good as my last Jupiter image, but still well worth the effort.

The 290MC is much faster at capturing - my hard disk cannot keep up! Even so, I was averaging 61 FPS for this capture. 3000 frames over an ROI of 1936x1096 pixels in just 47 seconds - not bad at all!

I used the Astronomik L filter (screwed directly to the camera) to accomplish UV/IR cut.

Exposure = 14.75 ms

Gain = 240 (AutoGain enabled)

Best 2100 frames out of 3000

Thanks for looking!
