Description

This summer, I travelled to La Palma in the Canaries Islands. For five days, the weather was pretty bad due to a dust storm coming from the Sahara desert. Fortunately, the last two days of the trip were crystal clear. We were lucky enough to visit the Gran Telescopio Canarias with its 10.4 meters aperture. It was really impressive.

This image was taken a few kilometers from the GTC and the Magic telescopes, where the sky is dark enough to see the shadow of the Milky Way.

Enjoy!
