Description

Found the Rosette easily on the first try; the open cluster in it is just barely visible under my sky conditions and was in my imager after lining up with the Telrad. There is a distinctive Pleiades-like pattern right in the "hole" of the nebula. It is pretty warm tonight; the imager is at 12 °C. Guiding is pretty good, certainly better than for M42 in my last session. Unfortunately I started this image pretty late so I'm already getting down into the Spanish Fork light dome, but maybe the filter will help. I’ve applied a lens correction in StarTools to try to correct for field curvature from the ST80; I want to see how well plate solving works after doing this. (It worked fine)

Reprocessed with star average white balance in the C revision.
