Description

So I took this image while I was in Rochester NY last week. This combination of 3.5 hours of exposures through a 420mm camera lens is of what's known as IC1396, a large nebula of ionized gas (the width of a few moons) in the constellation Cepheus. The nebula is best known for a feature called The Elephant's Trunk. It's in there somewhere, but tough to see with this wide-field view. This could be so much better, but I'm still getting the hang of this (frustrating) hobby!
