Description

On a recent vacation on Hawaii, I took my DSLR and tripod up to the Mauna Kea visitor center. I managed to get a nice shot of the Milky Way with Mars rising above the glow of lava on the horizon from Kilauea fissure 8. Since there are no public viewing locations for the lava right now, this was the best "Milky Way over lava" picture I could get. This is a single 20s exposure at iso6400 with a 14mm f2.8 lens.
