Description

This object is an open cluster of about 70 stars located 4000 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus. The sky background in this area contains a large amount of interstellar dust. Even more noticeable are the slight reddish hues from the emission nebula throughout the area.

Stephen James O'Meara calls this the Inchworm Cluster. Some of his nicknames are a bit of a stretch, but this one seems appropriate to describe the pattern of arcing stars.
