Description

M34 is located in the constellation Perseus and is a bright open cluster containing roughly 60 stars splashed over an area larger than the apparent size of the full Moon. Many of the stars in this cluster form pairs and are easily resolved with binoculars or a small telescope. M34 lies 1600 light years away from Earth.
