Description

So I had a near disaster the other night. Got up to check on the rig and it had disconnected, so I went outside to investigate. My beloved FLT91 was laying on the concrete having fallen out of the mount. I was absolutely sick. Investigation in the dark didn't reveal any damage so I took it inside and called it a night. Checking the next day the scope appeared to be undamaged. I set up the next night to check things out and I couldn't get my field flattener adjusted properly. After messing around for over 2 hours I threw an image in CCDInspector and found huge tilt to be the cause. To test whether the scope was damaged or something else, I took the mono cam and filter wheel off and replaced it with my ASI533MC, set it up to shoot M31, and went to bed hoping for the best.  I managed to get 113 subs before the clouds rolled in.
Turns out my filter wheel, the least expensive part of the whole image train, took the brunt of the fall and was bent, causing the tilt. Looks like the FLT91 is OK! Might need a slight collimation adjustment but I think I dodged a bullet. Pulled my best image yet of M31 to boot.
