Description

After the way above average seeing conditions on April 21st, I missed the Golden Handle due to clouds on 22nd, but was able to image again on 23rd. Conditions were nearly as good as on 21st, just a little less detail came through the atmospheric layers, but still worth leaving the final image at original resolution.

I captured a whole mosaic again, consisting of 15 individual tiles. After processing the data, it felt it had been well worth filling my ssd. Not as crisp as the captures from 21st, but really nice light on Schiller and Gassendi with Mare Humorum. Aristarchus with its rimae is still covering the bright interior in darkness, and up north near the terminator, the sun just barely hits the two central peaks of Philolaus, casting a pointed shadow all through the crater, maybe my favorite view here.

Please be aware that the full res view will download 36MB of data.
