Description

This object is a planetary nebula located 4000 light years away in the constellation of Cepheus. Its apparent diameter is just over one minute. The central star is magnitude 18 and is only faintly visible in the image. Not much has been written about this object.

The image is a bi-color narrowband image with an RGB star field. Reddish hydrogen gas is most prominent on the leading edge of the nebula. The inner region has a balance of hydrogen and oxygen.

One foreground star is superimposed on the nebula rim. Several stars are visible within the nebula and also appear to be in the foreground, but I think it is possible that some of these stars may actually be behind the nebula.
