Description

The Cave Nebula (Sharpless 2-155) is an ionized H II region. It is a region of new star formation - a ‘stellar nursery’ - in the constellation of Cepheus. Sh2-155 is estimated to be approximately 2,400 light-years from Earth, and spans some 10 light-years.

Data for this object were captured between 12 July and 8 August 2018, from a remote imaging rig (located in Spain) that is jointly owned and operated by Barry Wilson and me.

Capture details are as follows:

Telescope: Takahashi FSQ 106

Camera: QSI 683 WSG

Filters: Astrodon 5nm

Mount: 10 Micron GM1000HPS

Ha: 21 x 1200s

Lum: 37 x 600s

Red: 20 x 600s

Green: 20 x 600s

Blue: 18 x 600s

A total of 22.8 hours exposure.
