Description

NGC 457 is an open cluster consisting of about 80 stars at a distance of 7900 light years, and is located in the constellation Cassiopeia. It has been given a few names to describe it's imaginary structure such as the Dragonfly Cluster, the ET Cluster and the Owl Cluster. The main 5.0 magnitude white supergiant star, phi Cas is it's primary member in the southern outskirts of the open cluster.
