Always trouble with the Bubble...

I forgot to connect the laptop with the battery. Lost approx. 2hrs of integration. That hurt's...

Anyway, shortly after new moon I am aiming again at the Bubble Nebula. The last image taken on this object was six days ago with the WO GTF 81 and the Canon 70Da with a field radius of 1,43 degrees.

Tonight I shot with a field radius of approx. 0,25 degrees with the Meade 10" SCT ACF and the same camera. This is the second approach on this object with this setup. The last attempt with the same setting was on 2017/09/25 and tonight I felt that have to finish this project. But at that time the scope was not collimated and I did not rely on dithering so all stars were terribly blurred and I decided not to publish that one. Sorry Pacman, you're still queued. Guiding this night was top notch compared to all other sessions with an error of around 0,30 arc seconds. Keep in mind that guiding was carried out with a 60/240 guidscope on a focal lenght of 2540 on the 10" mirror. Please take a look at the prvious shot on this object and contrast it to this image and let me know your thoughts. Always clear skies, Andreas

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
