Description

Having a quite long list of wider targets decided to explore the capabilities of the WO Megrez 80 FD and the focal reducer WO reducer x0.8 Type II which is designed mainly for the ZenithStar 66. Cygnus was well high in the sky and it was not hard to pickup a bright nice target for the HII filter . Focusing was easy with just one 50mm extender tube. The blind plate-solving in APT showed that f/6.9 is reduced to f/5.9 at 470mm focal length and the corners are quite good

After the initial tests ran one 10min exposure and was fascinated by the raw image so went for series of 15 minutes subs. The result from that session was really great (see the mono version) and in the next possible night I have added few more HII and several OIII subs for HHOO image.

I'm really happy with the result and am looking forward trying the faint targets in my list
