Description

NGC 6888 also known as the Crescent Nebula is in Cygnus and about 25,000 light years away and about 25 lights years across. This is a wind blown nebula formed by the cosmic winds from its central star classified as a Wolf-Rayet star. WR stars are hotter than other stars (25000 - 50000 degrees Kelvin) and usually have a mass of more than 20 times our Sun. They emit material that cause strong cosmic winds.
