Description

The first image of the summer for me! It has been so cloudy and most nights there have been chances for thunderstorms. But, I finally managed to capture enough data between clouds to complete an image of a section of the Western Veil nebula. Located just behind the "Finger of God".

In doing so I noticed what looks like a mystical creature, perhaps a dragon-like creature, located in the right lower portion of the image with it's back facing the bottom right corner. This mystical creature appears to be bellowing fire from its mouth as well riding on the flames that seem to flow aft of the tail leaving behind a wake of fire. But, then maybe I just have an overactive imagination! LOL! What do you see if anything at all? Let me know...

This is a bi-color image with RGB stars.
Data was captured from 7/24/2018 - 8/14/2018
Gain 200 Offset 50 for narrow band.
Gain 75 Offset 12 for RGB.
