Description

It has been a long, hot, cloudy and humid summer but hey that’s Florida. Fortunately even a blind hog can find an acorn every once in a while or so the saying goes. I was that lucky hog Thursday 8/23, didn’t find any acorns but did find M92. This globular is located in Hercules not far from M13 but a lot of amateurs overlook viewing it in their scopes, which is a shame as it is among the brightest of the globular clusters in the Milky Way. It is approximately 26,700 lys distant and is one of the oldest globular clusters in the MW at 14.2 billion years + or - 1.2 billion years. I thought I would take shorter subs this time to prevent over exposing the core. I used Skytools 3 Pro exposure calculator for the first time to determine sub lengths for Thursday. It is quite a handy feature. I only shot RGB no lum.
