Description

Before I went outside I decided that I was going to try and image NGC 7023 with my Astro-Tech AT6RC Ritchey-chretein scope. I tried to image NGC 7023 4 or 5 times with this scope and have not gotten an image. Most of the time it was because the sky would not cooperate. Last night was no exception. It was completely clear when I began imaging but by the 9th image I could see

that the images were being degraded by clouds and finally by the 21st image the sky was completely clouded over. I had to trash more than half of my light frames. This is a difficult object to image even on a dark, clear night. Trying to image through clouds is pointless. I'm beginning to get really discouraged with the sky. I don't even know the last time that I had a dark, clear sky.

The last 5 or 6 times that I've tried to image I had to fight with clouds. Anyway enough complaining. Please enjoy my most recent image of NGC 7023. I'm not going to give up on it and will just have to try again on a better night.
