Description

- M8, The Lagoon Nebula is one of the most spectacular star formation regions in the sky and is faintly visible to the naked eye.

- It is a gigantic cloud of interstellar gas divided by a dark line of dust and containing a group of young stars, NGC 6530, that have formed from it.

- It is located in Sagittarius, on the way to our galactic center. It is estimated that it is at a distance of about 4500 light years and its dimensions are 70 x 30 light years.
