Description

M65 is a tightly wound spiral galaxy located in the direction of the Constellation Leo at a distance of 35 Million Light-Years. The disk is low in gas and dust, with a population of older stars, and the outer arm areas show thick dust and bluish star-forming regions. The disk seems slightly warped, but there are few effects of gravitational disturbance from its nearby neighbors M66 and NGC3628.
