Description

The Owl Cluster (NGC457). This is an open cluster of stars located in the constellation Cassiopeia about 7900 light years from Earth. The two bright stars are imagined as the owl's eyes. The cluster is also known as the ET Cluster (after the movie character ET), the Kachina Doll Cluster and the Skiing Cluster. Photos were taken with my 8" SCT in f/7 configuration.
