Description

NGC4051 is a Seyfert type galaxy located in the direction of the Constellation Ursa Major at a distance of 61 Million Light-Years. It contains a supermassive black hole in its core producing large amount of energy and metals escaping from the event horizon of the black hole. Gravitational interaction with a nearby neighbor (NGC4013) may be causing the hyperactivity in the core of NGC4051. This galaxy has been studied in depth in an attempt to fully understand Seyfert galaxies.
