Der kleine aber feine Kugelsternhaufen Messier (M) 71 im Sternbild Pfeil (Sagitta) liegt mitten in der sommerlichen Milchstraße und ist nicht nur astrofotografisch ein schönes Objekt sondern hat auch für visuelle Beobachter etwas zu bieten. Sein Erscheinungsbild im Teleskop hatte die Astronomen lange Zeit rätseln lassen, ob es sich bei M 71 um einen oCl, einen Kugelsternhaufen oder sogar um einen Mischtyp beider Objektklassen handelt. Mittlerweile ist die Natur dieses schönen Objektes geklärt: Es ist ein Kugelsternhaufen, zudem mit "1 A-Lage" mitten in der Milchstraße am Sommerhimmel. Glücklicherweise konnte ich für die Aufnahmesession noch etwas Zeit generieren...
