Description

I eventually found out that the Synscan controller of my NEQ-6 mount has a polar alignment routine! So last night I performed a couple of polar alignment cycles - even though my initial polar alignment wasn't bad at all :-) - and I ventured in a series of unguided exposure of 90 seconds at the Iris Nebula ( NGC7023 ) in Cepheus. Here's the result of 90x90s exposures at 800 ISO. I shot the same target in May, but with 30s exposures...I must say that there is a big improvement in terms of details of the nebula's core..so definitely worth increasing the exposure time...and better aligning the mount!
