Description

This fascinating faint field in Cepheus features the blue reflection nebula, vdB 152 (Cedarblad 201) at 1400 lyr distance which is illuminated by the bright star embedded in it (although it is traveling through the dark nebula, not formed there). vdB 152 is at the tip of dark nebula LDN 1217 (Barnard 175) which is a Bok globule where dust condenses to form protostars. Slicing through the whole image is a supernova remnant arc SNR 110.3+11 at the same distance while the red-blue object near the bottom is the planetary nebula PN G111.0+11.6 (also Dengel-Hartl 5 or DeH5). In addition, the very tiny red object in the brown dust just below vdB 152 is apparently Herbig Haro object HH450 (a forming star). Quite a variety of objects. North is to the left.

The link above compares the region centered around Planetary Nebula PN G111.0+11.6, otherwise known as Dengel-Hartl 5 or DeH5, with a previous best view I could find of that object (reference in the link).

9.5 hour HaLRGB taken @f/4.5 at D.A.R.C. Observatory, Mercey Hot Springs, CA, 9/7/18 and 10/8/18.
